Malacca.

Most of you know that my mom originated from Malacca and that she is a nyonya. So, being her daughter, I more or less grew up here too especially during the holidays when I was younger. :) Coming back here this time for my uncle's wedding made me realise how many memories I made when I was here particularly when I passed by my grandmother's old house in Bandar Hilir. Childhood memories made with just about all my relatives here that are still so vivid even after such a long time.

I still remember the old house we used to stay in that was so small and packed back then with that super old fashioned switch and washing machine as well as kitchen that you see on television where people from the olden days used to cook in. And how we'd use clogs to walk around. Besides that, I also remember the days where my cousin used to bring his hamsters over when my siblings and I came back and how my grandmother would be so furious. Hahaha. Trust me, we were so rebellious back then you wouldn't believe it. Also how my cousin would bring his PlayStation over and how I'd trash him all the time. We'd even walk over to the food court nearby nearly every night just to have a plate of fried omelette with oysters and indo mee and to a corner coffee shop occasionally to eat their famous duck noodles. ;)

The days where I'd sleep outside in the super cramped with my cousin and brother although they insist that I sleep in the room with my aunt just because I always snatch their blanket while I'm sleeping and they're left to freeze. Believe it or not, we weren't even sleeping in an air-conditioned hall but the fan is enough to make them position themselves like a ball. Haha. Also walking through the back alley to a shopping complex called 'Senyum' with my brother and cousin. No, I'm not kidding you. Lol.

I miss the days where I was much younger and that I'd follow my grandmother to the market with a trishaw. The same trishaw man every single day. Speaking of which, I was just asking my grandmother yesterday if he is still alive and surprisingly, he still is and even now, he is still riding the trishaw. What people do to earn a living in this century and how I'd be so ungrateful sometimes to complain about the slightest things.

So many memories were made besides the ones mentioned above. If I were to list down every single thing that I did back then, I think this post would be equally thick as a novel. Haha. Kidding but yeah. Thats just how much of things I did back then when I'd spend my holidays in Malacca. Needless to say, I'm really happy to have done it and experience living life in a less hectic and slow paced area.

Just thought of penning down some thoughts and so there it is. Hope I didn't bore you to death. :)
